Content Ideation: AI-Powered Idea Generation

The Ideation feature is your AI-powered brainstorming partner. Instead of staring at a blank page wondering what to write next, describe a theme or topic and let LinkLoom generate a curated set of content ideas tailored to your site's brand, audience, and goals — in seconds.

Why Ideation Matters

Consistent publishing is the backbone of a successful content strategy, yet the hardest part is often deciding what to write. Ideation solves this by:

  • Eliminating creative block — Always have ideas ready, never start from scratch
  • Keeping content on-brand — Ideas are tailored to your selected site's niche and voice
  • Saving hours of research — AI surfaces angles and hooks that resonate with your audience
  • Building a content backlog — Bookmark ideas and work through them at your own pace
  • Diversifying your content mix — Get a variety of formats, angles, and audience targets in one session

How It Works: Step-by-Step

Step 1 — Open the Ideation Panel

The Ideation bar lives at the bottom of your dashboard. Click anywhere on it to expand it and reveal the full prompt input.

Step 2 — Select Your Site

Use the site selector (shown when the panel is expanded) to choose which site you're generating ideas for. This is important — LinkLoom uses your site's brand profile, target audience, and existing content to shape the ideas it generates. Picking the right site means more relevant, on-brand suggestions.

💡 Tip: If you manage multiple sites, run ideation sessions for each one separately to get ideas that truly fit each brand.

Step 3 — Write Your Prompt

In the text area, describe what kind of content you're looking for. You can be broad or highly specific:

Prompt Style Example
Broad "Blog ideas about personal finance"
Specific "How-to articles for freelancers managing taxes for the first time"
Goal-oriented "Content ideas that drive email sign-ups for a SaaS productivity tool"
Timely "Back-to-school content for parents of teenagers"
Format-focused "Listicles and opinion pieces about sustainable fashion trends"

Press Enter or click Ideate to generate.

Step 4 — Review Your Ideas

A drawer will slide up showing your generated ideas. Each idea includes:

  • Title — A compelling headline concept
  • Description — What the article would cover and its angle
  • Target Audience — Who the content is best suited for

Browse through the ideas and identify the ones that resonate with your strategy.

Step 5 — Explore Title Suggestions

Click on any idea to dive deeper. LinkLoom will generate multiple title variations for that concept — different tones, formats, and hooks — so you can pick the one that best fits your voice and SEO goals.

Step 6 — Bookmark or Discard

For each title suggestion you can:

  • Bookmark — Save it to your personal idea backlog for later use
  • Discard — Remove it to keep your list clean and actionable

Bookmarked titles appear directly on your dashboard so you can jump straight into writing when you're ready.

Tips for Better Ideas

Be Specific About Your Audience

The more context you give, the more targeted the output. Instead of "fitness tips," try "fitness tips for office workers who only have 20 minutes during their lunch break."

Mention Your Content Goal

Include what you want to achieve: "ideas for thought leadership," "content that ranks for long-tail keywords," or "articles that convert readers to trial signups."

Mix Formats in Your Prompt

Ask for variety: "a mix of how-to guides, listicles, case studies, and opinion pieces" — this keeps your content calendar diverse and interesting.

Include timing or trend signals: "spring cleaning ideas," "post-holiday financial reset," or "what's changing in AI for 2025" to produce timely content.

Run Multiple Sessions

Don't limit yourself to one prompt per session. Experiment with different angles, audiences, or tones to build a rich backlog of ideas across topics.

Understanding Your Bookmarked Ideas

All bookmarked titles are saved to your dashboard under the Ideation panel. From there you can:

  • See the original idea that the title came from
  • Start writing immediately — click a bookmarked title to open it in the content generator with the title pre-filled
  • Remove bookmarks — discard titles you no longer want to pursue

Your bookmarks persist across sessions, so you can build a rolling content backlog over time.
