Managing Saved Ideas

Learn how to bookmark, organize, and manage your content ideas for future article creation.

Managing Saved Ideas

Saved Ideas is your personal repository of bookmarked content concepts. When ideation generates great ideas but you're not ready to write them immediately, save them for later and never lose a good concept again.

Why Save Ideas?

Content creation is rarely linear. You might generate ideas today but have time to write next week. Saved Ideas helps you:

  • Capture inspiration — Never forget a promising concept
  • Build a content backlog — Plan weeks or months of content in advance
  • Organize by site — Keep ideas sorted by destination
  • Reduce creative pressure — Always have topics ready when you need them

How to Save an Idea

During Ideation:

  1. Generate ideas using an ideation prompt
  2. Review the generated concepts
  3. Click the bookmark icon next to any idea you want to keep
  4. The idea is instantly saved to your Saved Ideas collection

Confirmation:

A toast notification confirms the idea was saved. The bookmark icon fills in to indicate saved status.

Accessing Saved Ideas

From the Dashboard:

  1. Locate the "Saved Ideas" button in the quick actions area
  2. Click to open the Saved Ideas dialog
  3. Browse all your bookmarked concepts

From the Create Content Page:

  1. Look for the Saved Ideas section or button
  2. View and select from previously saved concepts

The Saved Ideas Dialog

The dialog provides a comprehensive view of your saved content ideas:

Filtering by Site

Use the dropdown filter to show:

  • All Sites — Every saved idea across all your sites
  • Specific Site — Only ideas saved for a particular site

Idea Cards

Each saved idea displays:

  • Title — The headline concept
  • Description — What the article would cover
  • Site Name — Which site this idea belongs to
  • Save Date — When you bookmarked it

Available Actions

For each saved idea, you can:

  • Generate — Start content creation immediately using this idea as the foundation
  • Remove Bookmark — Delete the idea from your saved collection

Generating Content from a Saved Idea

When you're ready to write:

  1. Open the Saved Ideas dialog
  2. Find the idea you want to develop
  3. Click the "Generate" button
  4. You're taken to the content creation flow with:
    • Title pre-filled
    • Description as context
    • Site automatically selected
    • Brand voice settings applied

The generation process uses all the context from your original idea plus your site's configuration to create a first draft.

Managing Your Idea Backlog

Regular Review

Periodically review saved ideas to:

  • Remove outdated concepts
  • Prioritize timely topics
  • Ensure ideas still align with your strategy

Idea Lifecycle

A healthy workflow looks like:

  1. Generate — Create multiple ideas during ideation sessions
  2. Bookmark — Save the best concepts
  3. Schedule — Plan when to develop each idea
  4. Create — Generate content when ready
  5. Archive — Remove used or outdated ideas

Empty State

If you have no saved ideas, the dialog encourages you to:

  • Start an ideation session
  • Generate fresh concepts
  • Build your content pipeline

Tips for Effective Idea Management

Save Generously

It's better to have too many ideas than too few. You can always remove them later, but you can't recover forgotten concepts.

Add Context When Generating

When generating content from a saved idea, you can add additional context or requirements before creation begins.

Consider Timing

Some ideas are evergreen (always relevant), while others are timely. Note which is which when reviewing your backlog.

Cross-Site Ideas

If an idea works for multiple sites, save it once and note in your planning which sites might benefit.
