Why LinkLoom asks you to pick
A single Google account often has many Search Console properties — different domains, subdomains, http:// vs https://, www vs non-www, staging environments, etc. LinkLoom needs to know which one represents this specific site so every downstream feature reads from the right data source.
After connecting, LinkLoom lists every property your Google account can see. You choose one and it becomes this site's primary property.
What "primary property" controls
The primary property is the single source of truth for this LinkLoom site. Everything below uses it exclusively:
- Sync now — pulls page and query data only from this property.
- Insights KPIs, trend chart, top pages, queries, opportunities, zombies, movers — all filter to the primary property.
- Triage — feeds page URLs from this property into the priority queue.
- In-editor GSC data — the SEO analyzer inside the Content Editor pulls performance for URLs matched to this property.
Change the primary later and all of the above start reading from the new one immediately (past data for the old property remains stored but is no longer surfaced).
How to choose
Ask yourself: "Which property in GSC shows the traffic and pages I want to manage in this LinkLoom site?"
- If you have both a Domain property (
sc-domain:example.com) and a URL-prefix property (https://www.example.com/), pick the Domain property when possible — it aggregates all subdomains and protocols, so you don't miss traffic. - If your site lives on a specific subdomain (e.g.
blog.example.com) and you only want blog data, pick the matching URL-prefix property. - Do not pick a property that doesn't include this site's URLs — the sync will succeed but every list will look empty because no page URL will match.
Changing the primary property
From Search Console setup, click Change property (only shown when the account has more than one property). Pick a different one and the change takes effect on the next sync.
If you only have one property, LinkLoom auto-selects it after the OAuth callback.
Multiple LinkLoom sites, one Google account
You can connect the same Google account to different LinkLoom sites and pick a different primary property for each. Each site's syncs and views stay independent. The OAuth token itself is stored per site, so disconnecting one site does not affect the others.
